Hello, fellow Fiestans,

We once again completed our weekly server maintenance!

This week there weren't any content patches, but that doesn't mean we aren't working on new content! Instead, we did some work on the servers behind the scenes, which includes implementing some logs and tracking features, as well as ensuring stability and making sure those darn server bears hadn't chewed through any cables!

This type of maintenance is necessary to help us prepare for the upcoming content that everyone is working hard on getting ready for the community. It'll all be worth it! In fact, you might even start to get glimpses at this new content VERY soon. Stay tuned, Isyans!

As always, check out the Fiesta calendar here to see which events are coming up next!

Hello, fellow Fiestans,

It's time once again for our weekly server maintenance! What's been going on since last time?

It seems that the new, stronger energy given off by the Hard Mode bosses has had some unexpected effects! The energy has strengthened a small tribe of peaceful slimes who always lived in hiding for fear of being squished. Now, though, their squishy skin has toughened up and become impervious to attack!

Knowing that they don't need to be afraid of the Isyans anymore, they've come into the towns to play with everyone and make friends. As a sign of friendship, they've offered to act as soccer balls for everyone in town!! Get your friends together and get a game of soccer going (or football for some of you) - the rules are up to you! Don't worry, the slimes don't mind getting kicked - as long as they get to play with everyone in the process!

Oh, and for everyone wondering, GM Kobal is all healed up after his racing mishap last week! GM LaRuru has spent the last several hours chasing a soccer slime around. She thought it was so cute, she wanted to make it a pet... but every time she gets close, she accidentally kicks it away! In the meantime, the other GMs are busy preparing for the Feast of Giving Thanks. GM Wishbone always brags about his pumpkin pie, so now it's time to put his gold where his mouth is!

Changes

- Increased the number of mobs in certain areas for level 90+ characters.
- Includes most repeatable quest mobs
- Includes Burning Rock, Swamp of Dawn, Tear's Marsh, Temple of Spirit
- Decreased the difficulty of Leviathan's Nest
- Increased the moving speed of Hard Mode Malephar
- The attack damage of the Doppelganger Monster from the promotional quest has been decreased.
- Added Thanksgiving event quest. Talk to Lord Elbama in Elderine to accept it.

Misc.

- New slime soccer balls for towns! Kick 'em around, play games with 'em, come up with creative uses for 'em!

Errors and Bugs

- Fixed an error where a countdown clock appeared for the permanent Revolutionary Steampunk costume

As always, check out the Fiesta calendar here to see which events are coming up next!
Have a fantastic holiday weekend, Isyans!

Hello, fellow Fiestans,

It's time once again for our weekly server maintenance! What's been going on since last time?

The zaniness continues at Outspark HQ, but it's a quieter week for Fiesta. We've been focusing on fixes, especially in terms of improving the balance and fairness for the new Hard Modes. We will continue to listen to community feedback as we whip these bosses into shape!

Also in terms of community input, the new November items will be released soon! See if you can catch Velfarre and Lightburb sporting new autumnal fashions... and there's an adooorable new mini-house coming, too!

Last but not least, if you see Kobal in-game, be sure to wish him well! During the last derby race, his King Crab mount got moving so fast that he lost control and got flung through the air! The poor GM hurt his curry-eating arm, but he'll recover before you know it! After all, nothing gets between Kobal and eating curry!

To prepare for this maintenance, the servers will be shutting down starting at 10:00PM PST, and the maintenance has a planned completion time of 1:00AM PST, for a total of 3 hours. Check the server announcements located in the Fiesta forums for updates in case the process is completed any sooner (or later).

Changes

- Helga and Malephar Hard Modes' drop tables have been revised

Misc.

- November premium items incoming (yay new designs!)

Errors and Bugs

- Fixed an exploit when facing Helga in Hard Mode
- General bug and stability fixes

In Progress, Discussion, or Review

- EXP tweak (ongoing discussion/tweaks)

In each town there is a special NPC that keeps a list of all Kingdom Quests. In Roumen, talk to Town Chief Rumenus near the fountain. In Elderine, talk to Guard Captain Shutian at the Western end of the town square. In Uruga, talk to Town Chief Adrien at the Eastern end of town. You can also access a list of Kingdom Quests by clicking on the hourglass in the top right corner of your game screen, next to the minimap. Players can participate in Kingdom Quests beginning at level 5, and additional ones become available as your character increases in level. What happens if I die in a Kingdom Quest?

If you die once or twice in the Kingdom Quest, don’t worry! Once you hit "move" you will simply come back to life where you were slain. But this doesn’t always happen. After a few deaths you will be removed from the Kingdom Quest and sent back to Roumen, so be careful!

The OSKI: New Challenges, New Rewards

Hello, fellow Fiestans,

It's time once again for our weekly server maintenance! What's been going on since last time?

During the past week, an ominous feeling of dread has slowly descended on Isya. The weather has turned ugly, and many monsters suddenly became more aggressive. The source of these disturbances has finally become clear: both Malephar and Helga have powered up! The GMs created a small party together, but even they barely came out alive. We need more people to join forces to take them down! Show them that even powered up, Isyans will always prevail! (You can still choose to fight the normal difficulty of these bosses, but remember that higher risk means higher reward!)

After surviving Hard Mode Helga's lair, the GMs took some time to let their wounds heal and headed over to the Lucky House to relax. GM Kobal managed to get a weapon from the Lucky Capsule machine, and he was able to confirm that it is now bind-on-equip. Make sure to keep this in mind if you take off your Lucky House weapons; the next time you equip them, they will become bound! Also, GM LaRuru has been spying some of those special mounts around Isya that can only be obtained from the Lucky House. Congratulations to those winners!

Changes

- Added Malephar Hard Mode and Helga Hard Mode!

- Includes missing Malephar items!

 - Helga Normal Mode drop rate has been lowered to 50% (This was done because there are now 2 concurrent instances of Helga running at all times, one at 100% and one at 50%. Overall, this means 150% item drop total instead of 100% - a net gain of 50%)

- First Malephar HM details: http://fiesta.outspark.com/news/view/?id=zbn.18778

- First Helga HM details: http://fiesta.outspark.com/news/view/?id=zbn.18783

- New quests associated with this content:

- "Awakening Tragedy" - Talk to Priest Median in Swamp of Dawn, Levels 100-108

- "Helga, Once More" - Talk to Hugues of the Hunter's Union in Swamp of Dawn, Levels
100-108

- "Gathering Clouds" - Talk to Alberstol Chief Kiera in Alberstol Ruins, Levels 108-110

- "The Gradual Unfolding of the Truth" - Talk to Alberstol Chief Kiera in Alberstol Ruins,
Levels 108-110

- Some quests in the 1-60 range have increased EXP rewards

The Wishdom: An Early Guide to New Boss Hard Modes

Posted by OSK_Fiesta Saturday November 5 2011 at 2:27AM
Login or Register to rate this blog post!

Hello Isyans,

As many of you may already know, Fiesta will have two additional bosses joining the current ranks soon: Malephar (Hard Mode) and Helga (Hard Mode)! I'm sure everyone is curious and waiting in anticipation to see what new challenges and rewards await those who are able to successfully defeat Malephar and Helga.

I hope to bring some inital strategies for our community to use once these challenging bosses are released. Consider the following info to be early (and by no means definitive) guides to these two new bosses.

Malephar Overview

There have been a few aesthetic changes to Malephar in Hard Mode. Players will notice new background music as well as new sounds effects. Malephar (Hard Mode) is designed for players between the level ranges of 105 - 110. The Fiesta Team recommends a well-balanced, 40-player team of tanks, healers, and damage dealers (with more emphasis on damage).

New Malephar Skills

Malephar will have 2 new skills in Hard Mode: Summoning of Darkness and Strength of Darkness.

Summoning of Darkness: When Malephar's health is dropped down to 75%, 50%, & 25%, he will summon Destructors and Bloodsuckers to assist him in battle.

Strength of Darkness: Malephar casts a series of Reinforcement Buffs that circulate in a certain cycle.

Useful Hints/Strategies

The Malephar (Hard Mode) Gate can be found north of the Land of Darkness.

When Malephar casts the spell Summoing of Darkness, the raid group must make sure the Destructors and Bloodsuckers are killed quickly. The Strength of Darkness spell stacks over time and it is recommended that Raid Groups are sufficiently supplied with Damage Dealers.

Drops & Rewards

Raid groups that are successful in defeating Malephar (Hard Mode) will be rewarded with some powerful items, as well as quest items and never-before-seen items! These items include but are not limited to productions materials, new accessories, weapons, armor and quest items to unlock new quests!

Helga Overview

There have been a few aesthetic changes to Helga in Hard Mode, too. Players will notice new background music as well as new sound effects. The map for Helga (Hard Mode) has a few pieces of the Temple of Soul map and the texture of the monsters inside the tomb have been modified. Players will also notice a new set of monsters around an item called Bijou's Ball.

Helga (Hard Mode) is designed for players between the level ranges of 95 - 105. The Fiesta Team recommends a well-balanced, 40-player team of tanks, healers, and damage dealers (with more emphasis on damage).

New Helga Skills

Helga will have 1 new skill in Hard Mode: Summoning of Darkness.

Summoning of Darkness: When Helga casts Summoning of Darkness, monsters around Bijou's Ball will begin to activate the Altar of Revival. When the Altar of Revival is active, Helga's attack and defense will increase by 20% every 10 secounds. This effect will stack up to 10 stacks. Also, any attacks on Helga are reflected back at the player.

Useful Hints/Strategies

The Helga (Hard Mode) Gate can be found at the Swamp of Soul.

Upon entering Helga's Tomb, raid groups will notice that Helga is immobile and monsters surrounding Bijou's Ball are attempting to revive this great boss. The battle is initiated once all monsters around Bijou's Ball are defeated.

The monsters around Bijou's Ball will not attack the player but will respawn after a period of time and attempt to activate the Altar of Revival. It is recommended that Raid Groups defeat these monsters as quickly as possible.

It is imperative to stop attacking Helga when the Altar of Revival is active. It is encouraged that all players stop attacking Helga and focus on targeting the monsters around Bijou's Ball.

Drops & Rewards

Raid groups that are successful in defeating Helga (Hard Mode) will be rewarded with some powerful items, as well as quest items and never-before-seen items! This items include but are not limited to new accessories, weapons, armor and quest items to unlock new quests!

Good luck, Isyans, and happy hunting!

WishBone's Wisdom

11/01/2011

Hello fellow Isyans,

November is finally here! To those that can grow a beard, celebrate no-shave November a.k.a. Movember. Also, a very happy belated Halloween to everyone! We hope everyone got some delicious candy and dressed up in something spooky.

Now that all of the crazy mess that happened on Sunday and Monday are over, the Fiesta Team would like to make amends with the community.  The Fiesta Team hopes the community will enjoy a 50% EXP Boost till the end of the weekend, a 25% Item Drop Boost till the end of the weekend, some awesome sales with enhancement items & boosters and more.  Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience the interruption in service has caused, but rest assured, we will not stop until Fiesta is in tip-top form.

With that being said, I would like to take some time to talk about some of the new content and features that will be coming to Fiesta soon.  As most of you are aware, the recent addition to the Lucky House has allowed players to obtain some awesome weapons by purchasing a Lucky Capsule.  These items, while rare, are sure to help you out during your journeys and battles in Isya.  One thing we will be changing in regard to the weapons is making them Bind on Equip.  Don't be alarmed, though; when this feature gets implemented, the weapons will be bound on its next equip. That way you will be able to move it one last time before it is bound on your character.

Everything in the office has been very frightful and delightful since everyone on the team has been busy testing 2x Malephar and Helga!?!?!?!?!?!? You heard it right folks.... DOUBLE HELGA AND MALEPHAR ALL THE WAY!!!! Taming these additional foes will be tricky as the mechanics of these additional bosses have been changed a bit. If you haven't figured it out already, we will be introducing a "Hard Mode" versions of both Malephar and Helga.  The Fiesta Team thinks it will provide an interesting dynamic to end game content as well as challenge players to new heights.

Speed is key when trying to defeat Malephar in Hard Mode, while fun and exciting challenges will await those attempting Helga. Will you have the strength and courage to defeat these new bosses? Only time will tell!

While the content above is what's coming in the near future, I also want to spend some time discussing some other things coming down the pipeline - most importantly (IMO) new 9X content, a few changes to Leviathan's Nest and Composition/Decomposition Skills. While I can't go too far in depth about the changes we are about to see, I can tell you that our current and future 9X players will be pleased, players that enjoy playing in Leviathan's Nest will notice things being a bit easier and the introduction of new (missing) skills.

Until then, much peace and love --- and make sure to grow out those beards!
