Our guild left L2 because we didn't feel like there was much more we could accomplish. We held the best castle in the game in the best server in the game for over a year and we were getting tired of dealing with the politcal BS and showing up to defend the castle all of the time. Little did we know what *** MMORPG's were in store for us......
Since leaving Lineage 2 we have been bouncing around like lost souls. I have been playing MMORPG's religious since the first generation came out and yet I can't find one worth playing since L2. Tried Auto Assault, Archlord, Vanguard, 2Moons, Rappelz, Sword of the New World, and Pirates of the Burning sea.....at best a mediocre title among those.
Will Age of Conan give us a third gen MMORPG worth playing...I think it might. I have pretty high hopes for Darkfall Online as well. As for a sleeper I would go with The Chronicles of Spellborn. We have been begging for something worth playing for so long that honestly I don't get my hopes up anymore.

Aion and The Cronicles of Spellborn will be worth checking out
Fri Sep 21 2007 8:02PMAmen to you, I use to be a long time lineage 2 fan and I quit cus our guild fell apart and the guild leader and his gf went back to playing FFXII or something like that. I've tryed absolutely all those mmo's you've listed and haven't been able to find a good one. I haven't been so dissapointed since I found out Rosey O'Donald wasn't a cow. not really but. I haven't been able to find a good MMO and I've applied to both the Age of Conan and Warhammer Online beta. Still haven't gotten in, but I think you should check out Warhammer and wait out till that comes out and play some other games. CSS is a decent filler in my MMO life.
Sat Sep 22 2007 12:52AMThe only games I ran across that are on the level of L2 is EVE or DAoC.
Nothing else has any sort of cohesive point to them other then "kill 10 rats" and raids.
Look into Conans system requirements before you get to excited about that one. Darkfall is vapor.
Sat Sep 22 2007 12:54AMplayed almost 80% of all mmorpgs out there or at least tried them for a few hours but i can say with 100% that my 2years in L2 were the best ones. The gameplay....pvp and so on was too good....cant express myself so good in english but i hope you understand what i wanted to tell you :)
Sat Sep 22 2007 2:25PMHehe, I feel the same thing Nico.

Sat Sep 22 2007 3:12PMi hear ye! lineage 2 was (yes, was) such a great game. i loved everything about it, the world, the process, the community. but its not like it used to be anymore.
L3 in 2011.. its gonna be a long wait :( im crossing my fingers for a good mmo to show up and pass my time until then..
Sat Sep 22 2007 5:12PMLineage 2 was one of the first MMOs i played. I did like it for the wonderful landscapes and decent gameplay but its a mediocre game. Severe lack of content, abysmal community, lots of botting, lots of PK....if thats what you guys are looking for in a game i suggest RF online, it has all the qualities and all the shortcomings and issues of Lineage so maybe you'll feel right at home :P
Sat Sep 22 2007 6:58PMI've played since Ultima I. I've played them all and my two favorite mmorpg games have been Asherons Call and Lineage 2. I also feel programmers have lost their way and gone the generic mindless route for developing games. I can only hope for a decent game like these in the future but nothing except Connan and Heroes Journy have interested me. Any game developers need direction give me an email :P
Sat Sep 22 2007 11:11PMI know what you mean m8, i have the same since i "left" SWG (SOE ruined it), i couldnt and cnt find a "replacement" mmo.. Tried CoH/CoV, GuildWars, EQ2, done lots of beta's and trails, and atm i'm playing WoW, but there hasnt been, and by the looks of it, wont come a replacement of my beloved Pre-CU SWG...
Mon Sep 24 2007 9:26PMPre-Cu SWg was a great game.......our guild is [DREAD] and we were on Bloodfin....
Mon Oct 01 2007 2:21PMAh props I have not played L2. Give EVE Online a try its really good. would be nice if you could write a blog describing the mechanics of L2- what you thought were good, and what you do not like. Why did you leave - because of the politics? How often did u have to defend your castle?
Tue Oct 02 2007 2:35PMWe played EVE before L2 actually in beta and early release....we had a ton of fun.....at that time PVP was a lag fest and almost pointless. We were members on an alliance called the Stain

Wed Oct 03 2007 11:54AMWe played EVE before L2 actually in beta and early release....great game but at that point PVP was a lagfest and almost totally useless and there were a million exploits. In the early days there was a time when a ton of people quit EVE.....years later a lot of us wished we had kept up some toons there after the game improved significantly. Miss my tempest :( We left a little while after they put BS's in game for L2.
Wed Oct 03 2007 11:57AMInteresting you appear to know your games pretty well I must say. Joining a Clan/Guild for one thing is very important I always say
Sun Oct 07 2007 8:22PMAlthough I disagree with your taste in games (I personally despise L2), I understand your feelings. It is hard, if not impossible, to reproduce the experience of the first great MMORPG love. I had the same thing with UO back in the day and I still have never been able to feel the same love for any game that I had for UO back in the day.
