Its been a long time, far too long. A long time sin ce blogging and actually a long time since playing a MMO. Yes, the demon Xbox 360, the Microsoft monkey, was back instead and claiming most of my time. I thought I might be done with MMO's forever, well, at least until WAR comes out or maybe SGW. But I'm happy (and a little embarassed) to say the lure of WoW was irresistible and I'm back on that old horse once again.
To be fair, its not the only MMO I've tried this year. I did pick up a week-long trial of LOTRO but it just wasn't the same (I won't go into the boring details of why I found LOTRO so slow and why WoW is so ace - there are plenty of blogs and reviews about that topic). Which is all the more a shame when I just won a Gold Edition from a competition on another website a few days after my trial ended. Well, thats what Ebay's for, right?
I am doing things a little differently this time round in WoW though. For a start I'm playing on the European realms for pretty much the first time. I'm British, but I've played almost exclusively on a US server before simply because I had made American friends in another game and we all moved to WoW together. I'm also playing my pally extensively, as opposed to the hunter I levelled to 70 before. Its a very different experience playing the melee class, and more so when I'm the tank. More on that later.
So for now, 'hello, MMO world, MMORPG.com, and fellow bloggers'. I hope we'll all become better acquainted in the months to come.
