Unlike most vampire RPG games, this one isn’t just about killing the vampires. This game allows players to take up the role on either one side or the other and fight with add-ons to help maneuver the complex combat system associated with Iron Realms games. Don’t go into Aetolia thinking that you’ll just hack and slash your way to the top of the player rankings. The text scrolls at the speed of necromantic darkness, which is why a lot of players in Aetolia choose to use some kind of gaming client, like Mushclient or zMud. And you’ll have to know your skills and learn which combinations best afflict your enemy to the point of death.
Even if you don’t use an external source for accessing the game, you can use in-game triggers and aliases to help you gain experience through hunting or questing. Whatever path you take, make sure your character has a storyline that fits in with the overall theme of the game and stick to it. If your first character doesn’t work out, roll up another.
