Like Sorcerers, Machinists excel at putting out strong damage at long range. But while Sorcerers rely on magic, Machinists rely on devices and scraps -- transforming metal and other found items into impressive weapons, ammo, and traps.  This makes them capable of raining down destruction upon their enemies or using crowd-controlling traps to keep them at bay.

Long Range Damage Specialist – Artillerist Specialty
Machinists that train in the Artillerist Specialty focus on skills dealing with explosives, sniper shots, and various other long range attacks. With training, they can effectively take down an enemy before it has a chance to get close.

Artillerist Specialty Machinist during PVP
The Artillerist Machinist  isn’t one to fight at the front lines during PVP. Instead, an ideal strategy is for the Machinist to learn “Sharpshooter” and “Piercing Boost” and become a lethally accurate sniper. Even when faced with enemies that are skilled at avoiding attacks, a Machinist’s ability to take out foes from long range makes certain that their foes won’t be able to get close. One word of caution about the Artillerist Specialist -- if they’re targeted by an enemy, they are more easily taken down than those of the Mechanic Specialty.

Conclusion
The Artillerist Specialty Machinist is considered a more dynamic class, possessing a good combination of PVE and PVP abilities. Unfortunately, their damage dealing abilities aren’t as impressive as the Sorcerer class’, and their area of attack skills aren’t as targeted as the Mechanic Specialty, making them weaker in self-defense and when dealing with sudden attacks. However, they’re still very effective in instance combat, using strategies such as setting traps to deal widespread attacks, then following up with long distance attacks. They can consistently and continuously deal long range attacks during PVP to easily take down the opponent.

Trap Expert – Mechanic Specialty
The Machinist class excels in long range attacks, but the Mechanic path plays a more deceptive role, by focusing more on tripping up the enemy with mines, traps, and gadgetry. They adapt to be able to get close to the enemy, and carefully position traps to ensnare their opponents.

Mechanic Specialty Machinist during PVP
The Mechanic path is very powerful and effective during PVE, but not as outstanding during PVP because it relies so heavily on traps and area attacks instead of skills that can deal damage directly to the enemy. Having to get close enough to the opponent to make sure the trap can deal direct damage means a higher risk of getting hit. However, when supporting a teammember by using traps, the Mechanic Specialty Machinist is highly effective.

Conclusion
Mechanic Specialty Machinists are best suited to PVE situations, whether it’s in the wild, in instances, fighting solo or in a party. After learning advanced skills, their traps and landmines can explode instantly and powerfully, with a variety of area attacks. Mechanic Specialty Machinists are most effective when facing foes of average strength during PVP.
