The Cleric is an integral part of any team, bolstering teammates with healing magic when they’re wounded or on the verge of defeat. These kind souls dedicate their lives to keeping their friends strong and healthy even in the face of devastating damage. Some Clerics, however, turn away from the light to study the ways of harmful magic… Which will you choose?
Most Effective Healer – Light Magic Clerics
Clerics are primarily powerful healers, using the spells at their disposal to keep their companions alive in battle -- especially in dungeons. A cleric who trains in the Light Magic Specialty will gain talent in many forms of healing power, drawing on divine forces to heal and fortify others at speeds that cannot be surpassed. However, because of the Light Magic Cleric’s weak damage and defense, they are not suitable for battling solo.

Light Magic Specialty Cleric during PVP
During PVP, the Light Magic Cleric typically casts Damage over Time (DOT) spells to reduce the enemy’s HP, while avoiding attacks. Interchanging skills like “Sheltering Holy Light” and healing spells will cause the enemy to eventually die from loss of blood. Light Magic Clerics are particularly outstanding during a large party PVP battle -- their support can highly increase the strength of an entire party. That also makes them more likely to be the enemies’ first target.
Conclusion
Clerics that train in Light Magic have one of the most important roles in the party – the healer -- second only to the Guardian Knight. The potions in Divina can have a long cool down period, so a Light Magic Cleric’s high MP, high magic recovery and advanced healing powers are essential to maintaining the entire party’s safety. They are most suited to battle in a team. Alone, their weak attack and defense powers make soloing too difficult. Team members rely on them as support in dungeon or boss fights. That’s where they are most effective.

Damage and Heal with Curses – Dark Magic Cleric
Clerics that train in Dark Magic have a more potent arsenal of spells to damage and incapacitate foes with. Add to that a Cleric’s innate skill as a healer and the Dark Magic Cleric is the only class that can both attack and heal at the same time. In addition to the Dark Magic Specialty’s spells, Clerics who train in this area will also learn a variety of Curse skills, which can deal a high amount of damage, immediately inflicting the enemy with dizziness or slowing them down greatly. Not only can Dark Magic Clerics rapidly take down opponents, they can also attack multiple targets at once. Their only disadvantage is that they lack attacks that are very swift or deadly.

Dark Magic Clerics during PVP
Dark Magic Clerics have a similar combat method to that of Light Magic Clerics, but the difference is that those with the Dark Magic Specialty can deal a higher level of damage and can take down enemies faster and more easily. In addition, their Curse skills can be used strategically to harm a large number of enemies at the same time, leaving them to die as a result of DOT (Damage over time).
Conclusion
Clerics that train in the Dark Magic Specialty are explosive healers. Aside from their innate healing powers, they can use buffs to last longer in battle, and then deal more damage through Specialty skills to be able to both damage and heal at the same time. A Dark Magic Cleric might not have a powerful, high damage strike, but their consistent damage over time attacks make them just as powerful as the other classes.
