Defiance Lockboxes – The Key To Some Awesome Items!

In this post we are going to talk about lockboxes in Defiance and the different tiers and items you can get access too.

You normally have to pay money to open the boxes and they come in 3 different tiers:

Tier 2 Lock Box
Tier 3 Lock Box
Tier 4 Lock Box

You can purchase them from pretty much any vendor but depending on what tier you unlock will give you different rewards.

Obviously the higher the Tier the more it will cost.

Some of the boxes are overpriced.

If you are looking for a quick way to get items then I suggest you go for Tier 3 lockboxes. You will be able to open these for 24 key codes and 2000 Scrip or you can buy them for 24 Bits each.

You will get 3 items and a lot of the items will be Legendary or at least orange items.

You can also break the times down if you want to get a ton of Ark Salvage.

When you compare Tier 3 to Tier 4 and not much difference in the items you can see why Tier 3 makes sense.

Tier 4 will cost you 64 key codes plus 3000 Scrip or you can purchase them for 400 bits.

If you want some of the best items in the game I suggest you go for Tier 3 but it can also pay to check out Tier 4 once and a while!

How To Use The Infector Gun In Defiance

If you are looking for one of the best weapons to use when you are starting out in Defiance you can do a lot worse than the Infector but you do need to know how to use it properly.

This post will give you some pointers and tell you why it is such a powerful weapon.

One of the first things that you will want to bear in mind when you are using the Infector is that the (DoT) Damage Over Time is not the same as the Infected Indicators and you will find that it will stop a long time before the indicators disappear.

You will therefore have to refresh using it quite a bit for the full damage.

The good thing is that it is great to use against multiple enemies as you will be able to spread the infection and if you infect enough enemies the gun will create a chain reaction.

Once the first enemy dies, the bug hatched will damage the next target and so on so think of the Infector as an awesome weapon that builds damage up over time. The only downside of the gun is that the initial shots that you will be firing will not be very powerful until you start to infect a lot of enemies.

In my opinion you should focus on the “Canker” and “Invader” versions as Canker will give you increased DoT and make up for lack of bug damage while the Invader will rely more on bugs so pick one to match your playstyle.

If you are starting out with Defiance it is well worth learning how to use the Infector Gun:
