Posted by DaX.9 Tuesday January 22 2008 at 5:09PM

To cut long story short: I am breaking my thoughts which one of these to play so anyone has some advice?

1. Ultima online Kingdom reborn

2. Tabula rasa

3. Lineage 2

4. Anarchy online

5. Some other game. Suggest something good.

Played: EVE online (best mmorpg ever!); DDO; WOW; GW

Tried: LOTRO; RF; Archlord; 9 dragons; Dungeon runners.

    • I tried Tabula Rasa, didn't interest me but I can see how it may appeal to some people, I think MMORPG.com has a trial for three days, I'd try it out. As for the others I haven't played much sorry and good luck in your search!

    • Play Anarchy Online til AOC,Aion, WAR or Spellborn is relased and try them and try Anarchy online after they revamped it with their new engine.

    • Hmm, if you really like EVE, not much out there close to it.  If sandbox be your desire, go with UO, Kingdom Reborn.

Now, if you thrill to grinding and are willing to put in a lot of time and work into it to get to a great end game, Lineage 2 is for you.  But expect to work at it for a year or more to get there.

If you've never tried DAOC, never to late to start (on the Classic servers) and you can have some decent RVR fun in the Battlegrounds/New Frontiers while we wait for the new games to come out.

    • From your list, I'd say go for AO, the rest isn't really worth it.

    • Well, I liked Tabula Rasa for a bit.  I'd recommend at least giving it a shot.  Anarchy Online, back in the day, was a great game.  I hear they may be getting a new engine soon, too.  I didn't like L2 and I've not played any version of UO since the original release 10 years ago.

If you don't mind paying for it, Neocron 2 is a neat game but the community is getting smaller.  I loved the concept but the graphics are a bit dated.  But again, at least give it a shot.  Hope that helps.

    • If those are the best choices you can come up with, you really do need help!

But without knowing why you quit all those other games you played and/or tried, no one can help you pick a new one.

CoH isn't on your list.  I feel it is on a steep decline these days, but you might find it interesting for a minute or two.
