The possibility of an MMO like "The World" off of .hack?

Do you think games will progress that far?

and if so do you have any worries about it?

 

 

For one, i think we need better AI more than anything..........

ahhhhh, .hack.  The console game which had an MMO grind.  It even personified the very "repetitive" elements we detest. 

Anime was...intersting.  Game was neat though.

As for my thoughts, yeah...we are a long way away from what you are thinking of.  Its not even AI really...its bandwidth.  For all of that information to be running, it would take a monster bandwidth to keep up with the NPC's and a fat budget on the game to maintain it.

Lets just say, never gonna happen.  Best thing we'll get is player run worlds.  But, that requires a ton of players to be a true success.  Hard to get that these days.

Within about 10 years, computers have progressed from Mb's to TB's .....

I believe it is possible, but not a very probable thing.

Especially if they keep working and upgrading AI that can build the MMO by itself.
