It has been quite a while since my last entry. This is because I had been testing out various MMO's, and hadn't lasted long enough in any of them to have something to share. After many months of dissapointments (WAR, AOC, POTBS,MxO,etc), I came back to WoW...again. And, once again I'm hopelessly addicted. I've returned to hard core raiding, doing all of the 10 and 25 man content every week, on 2 toons.
If I haven't lost you with the boring particulars, I will make my confession.
I am not a saint, but I am a justified sinner.
When I came back to WoW, I picked a random server and rolled Alliance for the first time. I joined a nub guild, and once the GM realized my experience, he promoted me to 2nd in command. At first, I lol'd and went with it. But, as the guild began to inexplicablly grow I saw my oppurtunity to finally control a raiding guild. My plan was simple: identify the quality players in the rabble, and split off to form a serious raiding guild. Immoral? Maybe, but I was justified. The GM had no ambition, no vision, no brains. The only thing he was good for was convincing players to join his ridiculous guild. I would demonstrate my skill, experience and leadership in 10 mans, and then turn the good players against him.
The plan was simple, the goal clear. Why then, didn't it work? I overlooked one small detail: Most of the members I identified as quality, had loyalty to the GM. Loyalty? Who knew it actually existed in WoW. If you remember my previous posts, I believe that drama is the lifeblood of any MMO, and I got my share in that guild. "How could you?" "We were friends." "I trusted you." "Blah, blah, blah." How could they not understand? I wasn't doing anything to them, they were doing things around me. Sometimes the things they wanted coincided with the things I wanted, and some times they did not. They were irrelevant. I could no more be malicious to them, than a hot day has malice for a moron lost in the dessert. My failure came from not imparting this to them in a way that they could understand.
Some of you may not understand, or agree, but my philosophy is evolving. Drama is the center of life. Conflict is lifeblood. Creating drama is the obligation of those few enlightened souls. Bathe in it, spread it like a beautiful virus. If those around you cannot understand, take pity on them and continue your propegation.
These are the Memoirs & Confessions of a Justified WoW Sinner.

Mmmm...excellent. I too am fond of drama, and I often seek to exacerbate and augment it whenever the chance arises. Delicious fun.

Wed Dec 31 2008 8:02PMYour wasting your talents on MMOs, go run a D&D game or atleast a Warhammer RPG, there your talents would truly shine.
Wed Dec 31 2008 10:53PMTbh, you can't raid seriously with drama queens, or emo people, they belong into the rp section, who will never do much other than disband on impact with obstacles. Its fine if you like it, but you still will never raid jack.
Wed Dec 31 2008 11:11PMActually drama queens and the like don't work well in the rp section either. They can't seem to differentiate rp from ooc. Creating stife for strife's sake is never good so I have to totally disagree with the op.

Thu Jan 01 2009 9:11AMlol go get a job mebbe loose your virginity and stop living in a fantasy world where your real person is so meak and insignificant you hide away as an animated character dominating people to make up for your feelings of inadequecy inside.
Thu Jan 01 2009 9:42AMI think most people play games (MMORPG included) to get away from real-life like drama. I am glad your coup failed.
