The Armored Warfare site has been updated with a pair of articles to give players lots of new information about what is going on in the game and what is coming over time. The team participated in a community Q&A session that covered a number of topics including the addition of a Tank Destroyer branch, the removal of artillery from PvP and upcoming changes to the match-making system.
How will the Matchmaker mechanism change in Update 0.19?
There will not be any major changes to the existing matchmaker in this update, but we are planning two upgrades to improve its performance and team composition:
- Improved vehicle balance (taking vehicle armor into account, eg. lighter MBTs such as the Leopard 1 will not be part of the same group as MBTs that can withstand a lot of punishment)
- A mechanism preventing players from always being "at the bottom" of the team (not in any way related to player skill)
In addition, the first information was released about a new vehicle in development called the WPB Anders, a Polish armored vehicle. The article gives extensive history behind the tank including its development cycle in the post-Soviet era as well as a small notation that it will be deployed in AW at a later date.
