In the October edition of the Monthly Development Update, Age of Conan's devs outline what they have been working on over the past thirty days. This time, devs talk a bit more about the announcement earlier this summer that they'd be working on the game's Dreamworld engine with special notice given to architecture and rendering. The letter goes on to speak of class confirmations and PvP changes.
Funcom has announced that last year's "Nights of Lost Souls" Halloween event will be returning this year with a few new additions. The event, which runs from October 22 through November 2nd, features two solo quests and a single team quest which tasks players with tracking down three Lost Souls.
The Age of Conan monthly game director's letter has been rechristened "Monthly Development Update". This month's version has arrived on the official site with some news about the forthcoming 2.1 update. Devs outline some of the new PvP content coming with 2.1 including the Call of Jhebbal Sag mini-game and also spend time describing some new social content in the form of guild events and horse racing.
Age of Conan game director, Craig Morrison, has posted the latest development update letter on the official AoC forums. Morrison starts off with a discussion of the recent multi-part survey that players were asked to fill out. The results are in and the update focuses on some of the information developers garnered. In addition, fans can download a 20+ page .pdf file with the full results.
Funcom has announced a new 'premium subscription campaign' designed to reward players for multi-month subscription purchases. The gameplay bundles come in three-, six- and twelve-month terms and players purchasing one of the bundles will see some nifty in-game rewards. Three month users, for instance, will receive an owlet companion pet in addition to two weeks of additional game time and five additional character levels.
Age of Conan's Craig Morrison has written the July edition of the Game Director's Letter. In it, Morrison speaks to the fact that developers are in a state of reflection at the moment due to factors including the Norwegian holiday season, a new studio to get running and the just-launched expansion. But reflection doesn't mean not working.

Funcom has announced that it is inviting both old and new players to try out Age of Conan's first expansion, Rise of the Godslayer, for free. The offer is available until July 15th and includes 10 days full access to the core game and Godslayer.
